Once a metallic geodesic dome named for the first American in space, for decades the original Dome was an unrivaled music mecca for jazz, soul, psychedelic, and rock ‘n’ roll. Allis mined the venue’s archival heritage and reimagined its identity through the lens of cymatics—where sound shapes water into visually harmonious vibrations—resonating now on an entirely new wavelength.

To celebrate the relaunch of The Dome, we created a new wave of branded merch. From glow in the dark wristbands to retro-inspired posters, fans can take home a piece of this Virginia Beach icon.


A graphic toolkit of brand patterns, geometric waves and liquid distortion filters gave internal teams the freedom to expand the brand while adhering to the guidelines. In addition to graphic assets, modifications to the Futura typeface were made to allow for a more cohesive look within the Dome family of wordmarks and signage.
