Kona Village has a long history, spanning from the ancient stories of the land and its people to a low-fi, Polynesian-inspired resort that was washed away in 2011 by a tsunami. In June 2023, Kona Village was reopened as a Rosewood Resort.
To reawaken Kona Village is to shine a modern light onto ancient joys, so that each visitor to its shores may leave seeing life through new eyes. Allis relaunched the Rosewood Resort with a fully integrated campaign that touched every aspect of the experience, inviting guests to not only connect to the history and beauty of Kona Village, but to craft meaningful memories of their own.

Inspired by the archival imagery of the resort's past, the campaign aimed to produce a modern reflection of such a treasured era. Through the use of film mediums, loose compositions, and first person perspectives, a nostalgic sensibility was achieved within the visuals. Perfectly imperfect, the scenes capture visuals that feel like your most cherished memory.

Carrying on the tradition of the original Kona Village Newsletter, a fresh expression was reimagined as the 'Village Post'—a quarterly editorial piece that seeks to educate through cultural, environmental and historical content, while enriching guests experiences at Kona Village.
